Fuerteventura is split into two main tourist regions. In the South everything is centered around large hotel complexes, while in the North everything is centered around the coastal town of Corralejo. Corralejo remains one of the very few places on the Canary Islands that kept its local spirit alive.
There are approximately 152 different beaches along the coast and approximately 50km of white Sahara sand and 25km of black volcanic shingle. This stretch of beach is the longest in the Archipelago. Many say that the beauty of the Fuerteventura island is not on the land, but in the water.
Despite its size, Corralejo is filled with local restaurants, cafe's, bars, shops and is a place where both young and older travellers can find something to do. The surf culture is ever present here.
In the North, the towns of Lajares and El Cotillo are also worth visiting. Lajares with its multicultural hippie atmosphere is probably the most relaxed place on Earth. El Cotillo is an old fishing town with white sand beaches, lagoons with turquoise water and the most beautiful sunsets.
Water Sports is the most widespread free time activity on Fuerteventura. There are more surf schools in Corralejo than probably the whole of Europe! But Fuerteventura is not just about surfing. Many road cyclists come to train in Fuerteventura during the winter months.
There are also golf courses on the island and most of the hotels have tennis courts. Fitness and running is also very popular with many local gyms and beautiful routes along the beaches for runners.
The turquoise color of the ocean on a calm day is unforgettable and when the waves come in, it becomes an ideal place for surfers, windsurfers and kitesurfers. On the North shore there are many world-quality wave spots for surfing and during summer months when more wind arrives to the island some of the worlds best windsurfers find their sanctuary on Fuerteventura.
The tennis courts have different surfaces (hard, synthetic grass) and are wind protected.

"I just want to thank you for organising my tennis holiday for me and my son! It was a great experience at Saddlebrook. One coach in particular was fantastic as he fixed my serve and gave me some great cues to take away. All in all a great trip!"
