The Rosewood Little Dix Bay
Hailed as one of the best Tennis Resort Destinations by the Tennis Channel, Rosewood Little Dix Bay is nestled on the untamed island of Virgin Gorda in the heart of the British Virgin Islands. It is an island of rolling hills, beautiful isolated beaches and spectacular geological formations surrounded by astonishing clear waters of the historic Sir Francis Drake Channel. The world-famous Baths of Virgin Gorda, unsurpassed sailing and numerous unpopulated islands nearby to explore and snorkel, all combine to make Virgin Gorda a Caribbean vacation destination like no other.
Virgin Gorda, British Virgin Islands, Caribbean
The centerpiece of this dramatic area on Virgin Gorda's north shore is The Baths, a geological wonder comprised of awe-inspiring granite boulders, which form sheltered sea pools on the beach's edge. The protected area also includes Devil's Bay, which can be reached from The Baths by a series of ladders scaling the boulders.
Rosewood Little Dix Bay's luxurious tennis facilities provide a wonderful opportunity for guests to play their favorite sport on their Caribbean vacation.
The resort's award-winning tennis program is designed for players of all skill levels, with an emphasis on fun, fitness and expert instruction. Peter Burwash International (PBI), the world's foremost tennis management company, has been servicing the needs of guests at Rosewood Little Dix Bay since 1979.
The Resort is home of the Legends Camp, one of the world's most exclusive tennis camps in the world.
Rosewood Little Dix Bay is located within close proximity to seven secluded beaches around Virgin Gorda that can only be accessed by sea. In addition to the three-quarter-mile stretch of sand the resort is located on, the resort's staff will provide details about each of these beaches including the range of snorkeling opportunities, sunset views, level of privacy, sand color and quality. These beach drops are a true beach lover's delight.
Sailing/boat and yacht rental
Sailing trips to one of the many unspoiled and little visited islands offer a true sense of exploration. Boats/yachts set sail for Norman Island and explore what is thought to be the inspiration for the famed Robert Louis Stevenson novel, Treasure Island. For new sailors the resort offers hobie cat sail boats to learn the art of sailing within the calm confines of the bay.
Guests staying in the British Virgin Islands have access to a natural wealth of local islands. Yacht charters are available to explore nearby islands like the coral atoll of Anegada where guests might catch the deliciously famed Spiny Lobsters for dinner. Other well-known yachting destinations include Sandy Cay for snorkeling and its natural botanical gardens. For a true sense of island life guests may go “island hopping” to Jost Van Dyke, popular for its many bars and restaurants including the aptly named Soggy Dollar Bar where patrons have been known to swim to the bar and pay for their drinks with wet money.
With a natural abundance of coral reefs and underwater wreck sites in the waters of Virgin Gorda, it is only natural that Dive BVI, one of the premier dive companies in the region, offers scuba diving tours and beginner instruction right from the resort’s own beach and watersports center.
Tours explore unique wrecks such as the Rhone shipwreck, and the Chikuzen, a sunken airplane covered with colorful coral and home to vibrant sea life. Dive excursions depart from Rosewood Little Dix Bay’s dock regularly making underwater exploration conveniently accessible.
