About the Camp

Players of all levels, from beginners to recreational to competitive to advanced, are encouraged to join the camp for a week or several weeks of complete tennis fun. The staff is experienced in working with young players, from beginners to national champions. With over 40 years of experience running junior camps, quality instruction and personal attention to each and every campers needs are highlights of the camp program. Campers come to improve, make lifelong friends, have fun and immerse themselves in the "team-family-team" atmosphere! The team of professionals, led by Academy Director Phil Hendrie, are trained to improve and inspire all players. The campers are provided with a safe and healthy environment for soaking up intensive tennis and an international 


Nestled deep within the rolling Texas Hill County, The John Newcombe Tennis Ranch offers a unique tennis resort in an intimate setting where you can relax in the country atmosphere and participate in one of the most successful tennis programs in the country. The special ‘team-family-team” environment has to be experienced to be believed. The tennis resort packages are designed to ensure maximum enjoyment and improvement of your game, no matter what is your existing level of play.


High intensity and fun training camp open to kids aged 8 to 18 years old. Camp runs for the whole week (Sunday to Saturday) and include over 5 hours of coaching/day and match-play with other players from Monday to Friday

Accommodation at the ranch in also included in all packages.

Spring Camp (From Feb 7 to April 1)

  • Check-in: Sunday 2:30-4:30pm and Check-out Friday 1:00pm
  • Tennis Coaching runs from Monday to Friday

Junior players of all levels from beginners to advanced, are encouraged to join us for a week of complete tennis fun. This training camp offers a customized program for each participant according to your age and level of play, over 5 hours of tennis instruction/day and match-plays. Within a week you will significantly improve your game, make friends and immerse yourself in our unique "team-family-team" atmosphere. 

Sample Schedule

  • 3:00 Check-in to rooms to meet your new mates and Counselor!
  • 4:00 Walk to camp orientation with your cabin
  • 4:15 Camp welcome and Staff introductions followed by a skills test to
  • determine your on-court team
  • 6:45 Dinner
  • 7:00 Orientation & Rules of camp and pool party


  • 7:00 Breakfast
  • 8:00-10:30 Chalk Talk/ Drills/Tournament
  • 10:30 Fun Activity (Soccer, Frisbee etc)
  • 11:00 Lunch/ Swimming/ Relax
  • 1:00-4:00 Chalk Talk/Drills/Point Situations/Tournament
  • 4:00 Swimming/ Games/ Fun/ Relax
  • 5:15 Dinner
  • 6:30 Cabin Meeting & Clean Up!!
  • 7:00 Evening Activities (Dance, Baseball, Talent Show, etc)
  • 9:30 Bed Check


  • 8:00 Breakfast & Check-out by 11

Spring and Winter Camps: Awards on the last day of camp during camp.

A Non-Refundable deposit of $100 per week is required to confirm a reservation and will be credited toward the camp fee. The balance is due no later than 30 days prior to the arrival date of the camper.

If canceling less than 30 days before arrival date, all fees are non-refundable but transferable up to a year.

By supplying your credit card information, you authorize the John Newcombe Tennis Ranch to charge balances to the credit card provided.

Confirmation of reservation acknowledges camper's responsibility and obligation for any and all room or property damages.

By enrolling in camp, the parent(s) certifies that the child is amenable to discipline and is free from habits that would make him/her an undesirable camper, and you release John Newcombe Tennis Ranch, its agents, owners, and employees from any claims for accident, injury or loss of valuables that may occur during the camper's stay at the Ranch.

You acknowledge release and waiver of any claim for damages from any such accident, injury or loss. In the event of dismissal or withdrawal on account of homesickness, misconduct, or any other cause, except an illness requiring the attention of a physician, no financial allowances will be made. I understand transport to off-site courts may be required.
